FAQ

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Invite your whole team during the trial so everyone can try type.com before you pay.

What are AI usage credits?

One credit is $1 of AI usage, measured at the model provider's published rates. Credits cover requests made with type.com-provided AI access, and every plan includes twice its monthly price in credits, so $250 a month includes 500 credits ($500 of AI usage). Different models and requests use different amounts.

What does a 10-person team pay?

type.com Pro covers up to 4 team members, so a team of 10 is on type.com Enterprise at $250 a month. That includes up to 20 team members and 500 AI usage credits a month, with every feature. Team members can also connect their own Claude or Codex subscriptions, and eligible requests run through them instead of the workspace's credits. Start with a 14-day free trial and invite the whole team.

Do the plans have different features?

No. Basic, Pro, and Enterprise include the same type.com workspace capabilities. Choose based on your team size and how much AI usage you expect each month.

What happens when we use our monthly credits?

type.com warns workspace admins around 80% of the allowance. At 100%, new AI work pauses by default until you upgrade, add credits, or the next billing period begins. If you enable auto-upgrade, type.com moves you to the next price point instead. On the $750+ Enterprise plan, AI work continues and admins keep receiving warnings.

Can we use our own Claude or Codex subscription?

Yes. Team members can connect supported Claude or Codex subscriptions. Eligible requests are routed through those subscriptions and do not use the workspace's type.com credits.

Whose subscription pays for automations?

Automations run on the connected Claude or Codex subscription of the person who created them, even when a teammate or another app triggers the run. If that person hasn't connected a subscription, or it isn't available, the run uses the workspace's type.com credits instead. If the owner leaves, you can assign the automation to a new owner so nothing is missed.

Does it cost to add more team members?

Yes. Each plan includes the number of team members shown above. To add more people, choose the next plan size or contact us for a custom contract beyond 60 members.

Is type.com the same as type.ai?

No. type.com runs shared automations and agents for teams, priced by workspace plan with included team members and AI usage. type.ai is a separate AI writing editor with its own plans and credits.
