Codereadr integration for Claude and Codex

Create a Codereadr connection, then control which Spaces can use its approved tools and data without pasting credentials into prompts or threads.

Use Codereadr from Claude

Add the Codereadr connection to a Space that runs Claude, then use it from every channel in that Space.

Use Codereadr from Codex

Add the Codereadr connection to a Space that runs Codex, then use it from every channel in that Space.

Use Codereadr from Sidekick

Connect your own OpenClaw to Sidekick while Type provides the conversations, permissions, connections, skills, and automations.

Developer Tools & IT

What the Codereadr connector can do

CodeREADr is a mobile data collection and barcode scanning platform that enables businesses to create and manage services for data capture, validation, and reporting.

One connection, many Spaces

Connect Codereadr once, then decide which Spaces can use it in threads, skills, automations, and coding work.

Representative actions

  • Collect Data With Questions

Create and attach custom questions to a CodeREADr service for data collection after scans. Use this to configure forms that collect additional information from users after each barcode scan. Requires a valid service ID from CODEREADR_RETRIEVE_SERVICES or CODEREADR_CREATE_SERVICE.

  • Configure CodeREADr Connector

Helper to guide configuring the CodeREADr Connector for Google Sheets. There is no public API to programmatically create connector configurations. This tool validates your API connectivity (optional) and returns clear steps to proceed via the Google Sheets Add-on UI: https://www.codereadr.com/knowledgebase/codereadr-connector-add-on/

  • Create CodeREADr Service

Creates a new CodeREADr service (barcode scanning workflow configuration). A service defines how barcode scans are processed - whether they're simply recorded, validated against a database, forwarded to an external URL, or display web content. Each validation_method type has different required parameters: 'database'/'ondevicedatabase' require database_id, 'postback' requires postback_url, 'webview' requires description (URL/HTML).

  • Delete CodeREADr Database

Delete a CodeREADr validation database by its ID. This permanently removes the database and all its barcode values. Use with caution. Note: A database cannot be deleted if it is currently linked to one or more services. You must unlink those services from the database first. Example: "Delete database with ID 1340798"

  • Delete Device

Tool to delete a device from CodeREADr. Uses the CodeREADr legacy API with section=devices and action=delete parameters. Note: Device deletion may have limited support in the CodeREADr API - only 'retrieve' and 'update' actions are officially documented for devices.

Connection

API and auth details

CodeREADr provides developer APIs for barcode and QR-code scanning workflows, including remote configuration, data retrieval, business-system integration, scan collection, authentication and tracking of data, app branding, developer API documentation, and mobile scanning workflows connected to existing applications.

FAQ

Questions people ask before connecting Codereadr

Can Claude use Codereadr?

Yes. Add a Codereadr connection to a Space that runs Claude, then use its approved tools and data from any channel in that Space.

Can Codex work with Codereadr through Type?

Yes. Add a Codereadr connection to a Space that runs Codex, then use its approved tools and data from any channel in that Space.

Is this the same as a Codereadr MCP server?

Not exactly. Type uses connectors and connections to give selected Spaces access to approved app tools and data. Some connectors use hosted MCP, while others use OAuth, API keys, service accounts, or custom APIs.
